Dealing With Aphids in a Marijuana Grow
Aphids are a flying pest that will also suck the life from your marijuana plants if left to their own accord. They will extract the sap from the circulatory system of your marijuana plants like little marijuana vampires, then leave behind sugary bi-product that will attract ants to your plants. If you have a bad infestation you will notice some of the more effected leaves turning yellow and looking generally unhealthy leading to a generally unhealthy plant . Aphids are the second most common pest a marijuana grower will need to deal with.

The good news about aphids is that they are relatively easy to detect, and relatively easy to eradicate especially in an inside grow room. There are many natural ways to deal with aphids for your marijuana grow that we will list later. With that said, if you are already dealing with, or providing preventative measures for spider mites, you should already be preventing aphids. Ladybugs love aphids even more then they love spider mites and will devour these like nobodies business. Also if you are already using No Spider Mite, you should be doing enough to keep aphids from creating and infestation problem on your cannabis plants. No Spider Mite (or any other natural spider mite controller) will not directly kill aphids like it does spider mites, however it will weaken them by striping their natural wax and dehydrating them so severely, that it eventually leads to the death of these pests. So if you are using a natural spider mite repellent then there is nothing else you need to do to control aphids. If you are not, aphids are fairly easy to eradicate and deter.
- As mentioned before, ladybugs think aphids are candy.
- Search daily and crush found aphids between your fingers. Then rub them around your plants stems and leaves. This will send live aphids elsewhere.
- Simply spraying water daily will knock aphids off, and send them packing for easier pastures.
- Garlic oil spray will often kill aphids (though it smells bad).
- Banana peals at the base of your marijuana plans will deter aphids.
If you are done dealing with infestation in your marijuana grow, then its time to germinate some seeds.
